Welcome to the Southend Community Archive, a social history website.
This website has been designed and developed as a major new facility for helping people to share their memories and stories of Southend-on-Sea.
The majority of the website will be built through the eyes of the very people who make the town the vibrant thriving place it is YOU.
So if you have a memory or story please get in touch this website will not be able to operate without YOUR input.
So now that you have found us, and hopefully like us please share your great discovery with your friends, your family and keep sharing with others and help create a social heritage archive that can be used for future generations to see how things have changed and continue to change.

So just what is the Southend Community Archive?
It is a website that has been launched by the Southend Timeline and is being designed and developed as a major new community site that will enable anyone who has lived, is living, visited Southend on a day trip or holidayed in Southend-on-Sea to share their memories or stories about the town they remember and what they got up to growing up living or visiting the town.
We want to hear from you be it a happy memory, a funny story, something that touched you anything that you feel like you would like to share. It doesn't need to be long even the shortest most fleeting memory or story is important to the Southend Community Archive.
Those little titbits of information that are unique to each and every one of us are an important piece of the social history of Southend-on-Sea and sad as it is as people pass away it is information that will be lost forever, this is one of the main reason this new dedicated website has been set up.
The Southend Community Archive is primarily for any place that falls within the Borough of Southend-on-Sea, however we are more than happy for people from the surrounding areas to join us in their own special Southeast Essex page.

Rules
Sorry but there are rules, this is to keep things nice and cordial. I am more than happy for anyone to submit a memory or a story all that I ask is they are kept clean and respectful but above all this is not the place for a political rant! |
How it Works
At present the only way to submit your memory or story is to visit the contact page and use the contact form. This is to prevent any inappropriate comments being left on what has been designed as a family friendly website. Submitted forms will then be uploaded to the site in the relevant section of the website and in the master memories section. |
