About us...
A little bit of history.
The Southend Community Archive started its life over on the Southend Timeline website and has now become a website in its own right.
The Southend Timeline is a website that is dedicated to charting the history of Southend-on-Sea, there is an extensive diary listing the major and no so major events in chronological order as well as more in-depth feature articles, there is also a photo gallery and video's dotted throughout the
site.
The Southend Timeline is also the host website of the Sarfend Visitors Book a unique visitors book located over a mile out to sea within the RNLI Lifeboat house at the very end of Southend Pier.
The three websites, Southend Timeline, Sarfend Visitors Book and the Southend Community Archive are all free to use websites, together they form a unique social history archive for Southend-on-Sea.
Work started creating this website on Tuesday 2nd July 2013, the first two pages went live at 11:30pm on Tuesday 9th July 2013.
The website has built with the online weebly host, this website is free to view and free to submit your memories and stories too, it will always be that way, as well as this site being free for all too use it's two sister sites www.southendtimeline.com & www.sarfendvisitorsbook.com are also completely free.
The costs of running them are met entirely by myself.
I promise that this will ALWAYS remain free for YOU and anyone who wishes to visit.
